What goes into this estimate?
Solar sizing
Annual demand = monthly kWh × 12. PV targets the daytime share of annual demand, limited by roof area. Annual yield per kWp = sun hours × 365 × performance ratio.
Battery sizing
The larger of critical-load backup energy and daily solar-shifting energy, divided by depth of discharge and round-trip efficiency. Critical load uses annual average power, not peak demand or PCS sizing.
Financial model & limitations
Savings assume usable solar is self-consumed, after storage losses and annual O&M. No export revenue, demand charges, time-of-use arbitrage, tax, financing, degradation, battery replacement, site-specific EPC extras or incentives. Storage savings are not counted twice.
